mei mei things we love

Loving the Cowboy Junkies at the moment, I've pulled out all of my old cds.

This is their cover of Lou Reed's "Sweet Jane".

My latest obsession recommended to me by a dear customer - Teddy Thompson.

This is him performing Down Low from the album 'Up Front and Down Low'.

I am so excited - beyond wagging my tail!! Steve Earle is coming to The King's Arms on April 11.

I am then seeing Justin Townes Earle for 2 concerts when he is here on 21 and 22 April at The King's Arms and Leigh Sawmill.

Here he is playing with Steve Earle.

His new album came out today - Nothing's Gonna Change the Way You Feel About Me.

I had tea this morning at such a cute cafe in Epsom called FLORENTINE TEA ROOMS, I know that I may be a bit late on this recomendation, but I had never been there before.

I cannot recommend it enough, had the best club sandwiches ever and I loved the low key atmosphere of the place.  Take your mum or nana, they will love it.

I will now be going there daily after school drop off, and may not make it to work as I will be working my way through all the cakes.

I have known Karlya and admired her work now for years, so I approached her to draw three styles from our winter collection at mei mei for our home page, as she has drawn shoes of ours over the years for herself. We chose a selection of Dries van Noten, Costume National and Barbara Bui. Thank you Karlya.

You can see more of Karlya's work on her website www.karlyasmith.com.

I especially love her illustrations.
